He was born on April 26, 1940 in Chicago to Robert and Laura Szykowny Buckley.
Survivors include his life partner of 30 years, Janet Czech; one son, William Robert (Margaret) Buckley of Oak Forest; a daughter, Teresa Buckley of Orland Park; Janet's two sons, Brian (Kim) Magura of Huntley and Mark (Michelle) Magura of Portland, OR and two loving grandchildren, Matthew Robert Buckley and Joseph Andrew Buckley. He was preceded in death by one daughter Lynn Marie (Mrs. Tom) Herr.
He had been a firefighter in Bedford Park for 20 years prior to his retirement.
Private services will be held and cremation has been accorded.
