Mr. Chester Charlie Mast, 79, of Floyd Hicks Lane, Elk Park, died Friday evening, Oct. 29, 2004, at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn.

He was born Nov. 24, 1924 in Avery County, a son of Charlie and Odie Hicks Mast.

Mr. Mast was a member of the Beech Valley Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter from Wilkie Construction Company.

Survivors include three sons, Doug and Larry Mast, both of Elk Park, and Marshall Mast of Wilkesboro; and one foster son, Jackie Harmon of Sugar Grove; a half-sister, Betty Harmon of Elk Park; and a half-brother, Cecil Mast of Sugar Grove. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Lou Harmon Mast.

Services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Beech Valley Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Bill Warren, the Rev. Quincy Norris and the Rev. Max West.

The body will lie in state at the church from noon until 1 o'clock. Burial will follow in the Beech Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

Flowers are appreciated or the family suggests memorials to the Beech Valley Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, in care of Bobby Harmon, 3648 Buckeye Road, Sugar Grove, N.C. 28679.
