Obituary, The Oklahoman, Friday, Aug 22, 1953: Susan Farmer Leahy--Funeral will be at 10:30 am Saturday in Smith & Kernke chapel for Mrs Susan Farmer Leahy, 49, of Phoenix AZ who died Wednesday. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mrs Leahy came to Oklahoma City in 1936 and was employed as a bookkeeper. She had been living in Phoenix for her health.
Survivors include two sons, James A Abernathy, 643 SW 26th, and Walter Abernathy Jr of Pompton Lake NJ; one daughter, Mrs Ray Simmons, 2020 Brighton; her mother, Mrs Eva Lawson, Grandfield; a brother, James Farmer of Wichita Falls TX; three half-sisters, Mrs Yale Greer of Grandfield, Mrs T K Garland of Burkburnett TX, Christine Lawson, also of Grandfield; and seven grandchildren.
