In the Revolutionary Lexington Alarm, a Company numbering 60 men under Capt. Lebeus Ball, 1st Lt. Lemuel Bancroft, from Southwick: Col. Timothy F. Danielsons Regt. (Holland's Hist. Western Mass.) Other details of the enlistment in Mass. Soldiers and Sailors in the Rev. published by the State of Mass. Lemuel was a farmer, yet took keen interest in all the stirring events of the times. He married Oct. 15 1767, Comfort Munson, a twin, born Nov. 22 1748 (or August of 1747), daughter of Ephriam & Comfort (Curits) Munson of Granville, Mass. See Munson Geneology. She was the Administrator upon her husband's Estate and Guardian for four minor children in 1801 (after her husband, Samuel's death July 23, 1800.)
Her monther, Comfort Curtis was wife of Ephriam Munson. 13 Children Born at Granville (or some believe may have previously been called
Southwick) Mass. Lemuel marched to Bennington on an alarm, in Capt.
Cooley's Co., Col John Mosely's Regt., in 1777, and on the first Tuesday in April, 1782 was a delegate to the Convention held at Hadley, Mass.
