(Schutte) Blumhagen, was born May 20, 1912 on the family farm in Bloomfield
Township, Winneshiek County, near Castalia, Iowa. Henry was baptized at the
August Schutte home by the Lutheran pastor and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran
Church in Castalia, Iowa. Henry attended the Blumhagen School (Bloomfield School

found sitting on the tractor that ran the sawmill.
