DIED
At his home in Jamestown township, Steuben county, Ind., Feb. 6, 1897, William Elston, aged 70 years, 7 months and 5 days.
Deceased was born in the town of Erin, Chenango county, New York, July 31, 1826. He was united in marriage to Maria Elyea, Feb. 22, 1849. They resided in Tioga county, Penn., until April 10, 1858, when they removed to Jamestown township, Steuben county, Ind., where they have since resided. To their union were born six children, five sons and one daughter, all of whom with the mother survive to cherish the memory of one who was ever kind and thoughtful as to the welfare and happiness of his family and home. The funeral occurred at the residence Monday, and the remains were laid to rest in the Jamestown cemetery, the sons acting as pall bearers.
