Mrs. Victoria Van Winkle

Mrs. Victoria Van Winkle, widow of the late J.T. Van Winkle and resident of Hill County and the Huron community for the past 66 years, passed away at the family home at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon September 23, aged 81 years.
Funeral services were held at the Huron Church of Christ at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Elder Willard Morrow, pastor of the Hillsboro church of Christ officiating.
Interment was in Heath cemetery under the direction of Marshall and Marshall.
Mrs. Van Winkle was born at Little Rock, Ark. February 28, 1856.
She came to Texas when 6 weeks old, the family locating in Brazos county near Bryan, moving to Huron, Hill County in 1871 and she had continued to reside in that community.
She was married to J.T. Van Winkle in 1876. Mr. Van Winkle died February 24, 1934.
She obeyed the gospel some 60 years ago and had been a member of the Huron Church of Christ form many years.
Surviving are two children, Frank Van Winkle of Whitney and Mrs. J. M. Wornell of Blum: 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; one brother, D.L. Roberts of Whitney, and one sister, Mrs. I.N. Wingate of Whitney.
