TOWER - On Sunday, Nov. 11, 1894, at Dickinson Center, N .Y., Sevona Tower, widow of the late Jacob Tower, of Malone, N.Y., and mother of County Treasurer E. R. Tower, aged 88 years.

Nov. 15 - Mrs. Sevona Tower, aged 88 years died very suddenly, Sunday morning, Nov. 11th, while sitting in her chair. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gleason, with who she resided. Rev. S. Short was the officiating clergyman. His comforting words will long be remembered. The relatives of the deceased wish to express their sincere thanks for the kind assistance and sympathy given by friends and neighbors in their sorrow.
Clipping from the Malone Farmer - Mrs. Tower's maiden name was Sevona Kingsbury. She came to Bangor with her parents 70 years ago and had ever since resided in this county where she enjoyed a large circle of friends. She was married to Mr. Tower 68 years ago and was the mother of eleven children, all of whom grew to mature years, and eight of whom are still living. Mrs. Tower was one of the oldest of the surviving inhabitants of Bangor. She was a woman of rare intelligence, character, and worth, devoted to home and family, and was beloved by children and grandchildren. Her death was sudden, County Treasurer Tower receiving a dispatch Monday announcing it, without previously knowing of her illness. She resided with him until his removal to Malone, when she went to reside in Dickinson with her daughter, Mrs. S.W. Gleason. The surviving sons and daughters of Mrs. Tower are Edwin Tower of Malone; Almon N. Tower, of Dickinson Center; Albert Tower and Austin Tower, of Moria, H. B. Tower, of Kansas City, MO., W. J. Tower, of Manchester, N. H.; and, Mrs. S. W. Gleason and Mrs. Lyndon Young, of Dickinson. The interment occurred in Bangor, Tuesday, Nov. 13th.
