Mrs. Herman Nelson, 46, of 1416 E 5th St, died at her home last night after a long illness, multiple sclerosis.

The former Iva Phillips was born October 23, 1903, on a farm south of Valley Springs and lived there until she was 17 when she moved to Sioux Falls. She married Herman Nelson, October 28, 1933, in Canton.

Surviving Mrs. Nelson are her widower, Herman; five brothers, Louis of Kirkland, Washington, Nead and Rueben of Garretson, George and Peder of Valley Springs; two sisters, Miss Hilda Phillips of Garretson and Mrs. Fern Witte of Sioux Falls.

Services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home. The Rev H. R. Gregerson will officiate. Mrs. C. B. Van Ausdall will be organist, and Mrs. Clifford Swanson will be vocalist. Pallbearers will be Donald Thompson, Ronald Johnson, Vernus Phillips, Sherwood Norberg, Edward Langley and Carl Nelson.

Burial will be at Hills of Rest Cemetery. The Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
