Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Heffelfinger, 74, of 4401 Roop Road, near Mount Airy, died Tuesday, Sept 19 at Carroll County General Hospital, after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 1, 1914, in Carroll County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. William E. and Olga Conaway Gosnell.
She was the wife of the late Franklyn Grant Heffelfinger, who died in May 1989.
Mrs. Heffelfinger was a member of the Church of the Open Door in Westminister, where she participated in the Super 60s choir.
She was a member of the Carroll County Geneological Society.
Surviving are one sister, Rhoda V. Wine of Bridgewater, Va.; six brothers, Howard H. Gosnell Sr. of Westminister, Joseph B. Gosnell of Englewood, Ohio, Fred A. Gosnell of New Windsor, Wilbur S. Gosnell of Glenarm, John W. Gosnell of Murfreesboro, N.C., and Walter R. Gosnell of Denver, Pa.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at Sam's Creek Church of the Brethren near New Windsor. Officiating will be the Rev. John Campbell, associate pastor, Church of the Open Door, assisted by the Rev. Paul Leatherman, pastor of Sam's Creek Church.
Interment will be in Sam's Creek Cemetery.
