Rex Allen Roudebush, 55, Kokomo, died at 8:08 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011, in the emergency room at Howard Regional Health System. He was born July 24, 1955, in Winamac, the son of David and Hazel (Warner) Roudebush. On Sept. 25, 1976, he married Mary M. Rafferty, who survives.

He was a 1973 graduate of Winamac Community High School and St. Elizabeth Paramedic School. He currently worked at the St. Vincent Heart Center and also part time for PCAT Ambulance Service. He previously had worked as a paramedic for Howard Regional Health System, St. Joseph Hospital, Logansport Hospital and other surrounding hospitals in the area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and relaxing in his hot tub on his deck.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert "Bob" Roudebush and wife Erica, Noblesville; one daughter, Holly Roudebush, Sharpsville; two grandchildren, Hunter Roudebush and Reagan Roudebush; sister, Laura Bitterling and husband Jerry, Logansport; two special dogs, Lilly and Louie; and grand dog, Willy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Kent Roudebush.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Mark Deckinga officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
