Daniel Linnihan, one of the oldest and highly respected citizens of Byron Township, died Tuesday evening after a lingering illness. Death came peacefully to the old gentleman as he was surrounded by his family including his five sons and three daughters. Mr. Linnihan has been a resident of Byron Township for more than 40 years. He was born in Ireland and reached the ripe age of 83 years. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning with services at the Catholic Church in St. Mary's, and the remains will be laid to rest in the St. Mary's Cemetery.

Daniel left Ireland about 1852 with his father Daniel, brothers John, Michael, Timothy and sister Margaret, they settled first in Adams County, (Juneau) WI before moving to Byron Twp, Waseca County, MN.
