Married Susanna King 29 July 1841 in Crawford County, Ohio. In 1850 the family is in Champaign County, Ohio and in 1860 they are in Clay County, Missouri. One 1860 index has him listed as "Wilson Shocken"another as "Wilson Shocker". He does not appear in the 1870 census but a biographical article on his son-in-law, James Lawson, appearing in HISTORICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF ILLINOIS AND HISTORY OF SANGAMON COUNTY Volume II - Biographical Chicago: Munsell Publishing Company, Publishers 1912 states that Nelson died in Missouri. According to census entries they had the following children: Henry (b. 1841); Washington (b. 1842); Nancy M (1846); Margaret (b. abt 1848); Daniel N (abt 1851); Mary E (b. abt 1854); Mahala Jane (b. 1857); Rosina (b. 1859). Mary D. (b. abt 1866, MO), and James (b. abt 1868, IL).
