Services for Esther Marie Powell, 88, Logansport will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Kroeger Funeral Home. She passed away at 11:56 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, after three years of residing at Miller's Merry Manor. Born Sept. 27, 1920, in Cass County, she was the daughter of John and Annie Shanks. She was married in Logansport on July 7, 1940, to Raymond H. "Bud" Powell, who preceded her in death on June 21,1997 A homemaker, Esther was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. Her family came first. She enjoyed cooking, mushroom hunting, word search puzzles, and listening to and watching basketball. She enjoyed visiting with family, friends and neighbors. Surviving are two daughters, Martha Lou Cotner, Galveston, and Linda Kay (Paul) Rossomme, Logansport; three granddaughters, Lora (Dave) Bisard, Indianapolis, Megan (Justin) Schultz, Logansport, and Alyssa Gillum, Lafayette; and four greatgrandchildren, Emma and Ellie Bisard, Ashtin Gillum, and Tristin Schultz. She was preceded in death
by six brothers, three sisters, and one son-in-law, Mike Cotner. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Flora. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
