a.m. Wednesday April 16, 1980.
He was born Aug. 17, 1899, in
Deacon, the son of John M. and
Annie Shanks. He was married Oct.
20, 1926, in Cass County to Louanna
F. Plank, who died Dec. 13,
1977.
An owner of a grocery store in
Deacon for 46 years, he was a
member of Center United Methodist
Church, the Eagles Lodge in
Logansport and Deacon Grange.
Surviving are three sons; four
daughters, including Helen Ennis of
Flora; four brothers, four sisters; 16
grandchildren; two step-grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren.
A brother preceded him in death.
Services were Saturday in Deacon
with burial in the church cemetery.
