Cajun musician: In 1969 he formed, “Gob” Menard and The Jolley Boys . He worked with David Roger and the Hudson Playboys from 1952 to 1969, Willis Miller, Clarence Hanks, Carroll Menard, David Roger. Awards: 1987-Third place Senior Accordion Contest, Church Point, La. He was playing house dances at ten years old until he was eighteen. His father passed away and he stopped playing music for about eighteen years. In 1952 at age thirty six he joined up with David Roger and the Hudson Playboys and worked with that group for about fourteen years. After David Roger passed away in 1969, he took over as band leader and re-named the band The Jolly Boys.They played at La Poussiére in Breaux Bridge, the Half-Way Club near Abbeville and the Holliwood Club in Rayne. He worked with this group until 1991 when he was forced to retire after having
open heart surgery
