Douglas E Roche, 69, passed away on January 19, 1997, in the Bear River Valley Hospital of heart failure. He was born on August 9, 1927, to Alan Everad and Alice Erma Anderson Roche.

He married Doris Hadfield on August 18, 1948, in Riverside, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on November 22, 1961.

Doug was born and raised in Thatcher, Utah. He had lived in Thatcher, The Hillside Ranch at West Fielding, Utah, and in Riverside, Utah. He owned and operated his own ranch.

Doug was a High Priest in the Belmont 2nd Ward. He was a member of the High Council and an Officiator at the Logan LDS Temple. He had been a Scoutmaster and a member of the Belmont Bishopric.

He was a Veteran of WW II.

Doug had been President of the King Creek Grazing Association, Chief of the Box Elder County Sheriff's Posse, and Chairman of the Utah High School Rodeo.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, Riverside, Utah; three sons and one daughter and their spouses, VerNon D (Joanne) MacKay, Idaho; LaMar (Sherri) Parma, Idaho; Jeffrey (Kristie), Plymouth, Utah; Lola (Kent) Baker, Riverside, Utah; 14 grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers Milton, Thatcher, Utah; Franklin, Salt Lake City, Utah; 10 sisters, Phyllis Valentine, and Margie Peters, both of Brigham City, Utah; Juanita Evans, Bothwell, Utah; Ora Lewis, Thatcher, Utah; Ruth Steed, Vicki Archibald, both of Plymouth, Utah; Connie Fridal, Janice Chournos, Jean Barnes, all of Tremonton, Utah; and Micky Newman, St George, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Blanche Pledger, and one brother, Vern.

Doug was loved by all those who knew him, his loving family and grandchildren adored him.

Burial was held in the Riverside Cemetery, Riverside, Utah.
