Vernelle Blanton Moore, 76, of Wichita Falls, Texas, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at Hospice Care Center of Wichita Falls.

Born in Leonard, Texas she was the daughter of Isaac Milton Blanton and Daisy Teague Blanton. She married Rufus D. Moore on August 19, 1948.

She was a resident of Wichita Falls for 8 years, moving here after retirement as a nurse with Civil Service in the V.A. Hospital System.

She was named a "Who's Who in American Nursing" and had been a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star.

She was a member of Fairway Baptist Church and the Fifty Plus Senior Zone.

Graveside services will be held at Randolph-Lindsey Cemetery, Randolph, Texas at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2004, Rev. Joe Corne, Associate Pastor of Fairway Baptist Church will be officiating. Interment will follow at Randolph-Lindsey Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.

She is survived by her One Daughter, Laura Byrd and husband Glynn of Wichita Falls, Texas, One Sister, Opal Harden of Marlin, Texas, Four Grandchildren, Cheryl Givens, Kyle Byrd, Troy Byrd & Heather Diomede, Seven Great G! randchildren, Paige, Lauren, Madison, Jordan, Sydney, Reagan & Clayton

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2004 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
