Joseph Fliginger Dies in Hutchinson

Joseph Fliginger, 83, a resident of Walnut Township for many years, died at 12:40 Wednesday noon at Evergreen Manor in Hutchinson. He had suffered a stroke on January 17.

Mr. Fliginger, a retired farmer, was born December 9, 1884 at Berne, Ind. IN 1904 he was married to Mary Miller who passed away in 1943. On November 1, 1944 he was married to Bertha Schmucker who survives him.

Surviving are his widow, also of Evergreen Manor; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alta Fliginger of Pittsburg; two granddaughters, Mrs. Arvilla Wise of Stillwater, Okla. and Betty Jo Cowden of Lawton, Okla.; two great grandchildren.

A son, Harold, preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Sterling Evangelical Mennonite Church.

Friends may call at the Porter-Sillin Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Thursday.
