Harriet Colegrove was married to Thomas Clarke Saunders in 1864. They had four children, two of whom died in infancy. The two surviving children were Willian Colegrove Saunders and Marian S. (Saunders) Howard. Harriet and Thomas lived in the Dakota Territory for a time, but eventually separated. Harriet moved back to Pennsylvania and is buried next to her two infant daughters.
