Norman B. Woodhead

Norman B. Woodhead was born in Clay county (sic), Nebraska, July 11, 1875, and died November 5, 1934 at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 24 days.

He was united in marriage on November 23, 1903 to Miss Bessie Smith. To this union were born eight children, one of whom died in infancy.

He, with his family, lived at Clay Center for a while at which time he was engineer of the Orr Bros. Flour Mill. Later they moved to Lincoln here he lived the remainder of his life with the exception of one year spent in California.

He leaves to mourn, his wife, seven children and one grandchild, Clarence, Mervin, Ivan, Jo, Mabel Gerlach, Dora and Evelyn, all of Lincoln, two sister,s Mrs Nellie Ashton of Twin Falls Idaho, Mrs Carrie Higgenbotham of Dallas, Texas, two brothers Charles and Jim of Edgar, and one half brother Willie of Grand Island, Nebr, and a stepmother, Mrs Carrie Woodhead of Grand Island, besides several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Presbyterian church Rev T. S. Hughes officiated. A quartet consisting of Mrs T. S. Hughes Miss Lois Walley, J. G. Walley and J. M. McGhie sang "Saviour Pilot Me," "Rock of Ages" and "Abide with Me". Pallbearers were E. L. Smock, Carl Nelson, Marsh Isham, Elias Everett, Herman Gemmer, and Charles Jordan. Interment was made in the Ashley cemetery northeast of Edgar.
