On one of his childrens obits it said Silas had 16 children
by at least two wives Edna Merritt/Merrett and Bertha Feltman

In the 1917-1918 WWII registration Silas had a wife and 4 children, living at route #2 Townsville, SC he was a farm laborer working for Will Wells, probably his older brother.
