BURNS, THERESA C. (CONNELL), 76, formerly of Providence and Matunuck, died March 15, 2009 at Lifecare of Merrimack Valley, North Billerica, MA. She was the wife of the late John J. Burns, Jr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Catherine (Delahanty) Connell. Theresa was a registered nurse, working at the VA Hospital in Providence for many years before retiring. She also was a real estate agent for DeFelice Realty and Cress and Company for many years. She served as a nurse with the U.S. Navy for 6 years. She leaves three sons, John J. 'Jay' Burns III and his wife Kristen of Westminster, CO, Timothy F. Burns and his wife Jodi of North Billerica, MA, Stephen V. Burns of Bronx, NY, four grandchildren, Connor, Kyra, Hannah, and Daniel, and a brother, James Connell of Providence. Her funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Camp St., Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 pm.
