"Robert B. Ewan, a member of Camp No. 80 U.C.V., of Kansas City, MO., died at his home there on May 11, aged seventy-nine years. He is survived by his wife, a son, and two daughters. He was born in Shenandoah Valley, VA., and served between the States under the immortal Jackson. Through his frail body a wonderful flame of life kept glowing till it seemed that death could scarcely triumph over his indomitable spirit..."(Flora Stephens)
