Mrs. Snipes was the daughter of the late Samuel W. Barber & Cora Lee Rabon Barber. Born in Columbia, she graduated from University High School and retired from Ft. Jackson Army Finance and Accounting Department after 33 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry T. Snipes, and sister, Ruby T. Tolbert..

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Gladys S. Sheehan; niece, Diane Clark; great-nieces, Jackie Rivers, Dawn Clark, & Tara Strickland, as well as a number of other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held, Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Virginia Wingard Memorial United Methodist Church, with The Rev. John Wesley Culp officiating. Sheriff Leon Lott delivered the eulogy. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Russell Rivers, Scott Castleberry, Scott Plexico, Sheriff Leon Lott, Corey Strickland, & Joe Chapine.
