MRS. H. BUCHANAN DEAD
Funeral and Burial Services Held Privately This Afternoon
Mrs. Mettie Buchanan, 62, wife of Henry Buchanan, died Thursday at 8:30 a.m. of meningitis at her home in Cincinnati, O., after nine weeks of ill health.
Born in Carroll county, Kentucky, she came to Madison at the age of 16 years and lived here until 25 years ago when she went to Cincinnati.
She leaves her husband, four children, Mrs. Joe Fitter, at Newport, Ky., Mrs. Albert Sevie, Cincinnati, and Oliver and Henry Buchanan of Cincinnati; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Alexander and Mrs. Scott Alexander, both of this city, and Mrs. George Logan, of Covington, Ky.; a brother, Ruford Cole, of West Madison; a half-brother, Charles Cole, at Ghent, Ky., four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was brought to Haigh's funeral home late yesterday for private funeral and burial services. The funeral was conducted by Rev. H. P. Colson at Haigh's this afternoon at 3:30 o'lcock and interment was in Springdale cemetery.
