DAVENPORT -- Memorial services for Herbert Leroy Liljequist, 81, Davenport, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation is noon to service time. Inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park. American Legion Post 26 will conduct military services at the burial.

Herbert died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Davenport Good Samaritan Center.

He was owner and operator of Liljequist Inc., Davenport, for 40 years. He retired in 1985.

He was born May 31, 1920, in Indianapolis, to Herbert and Cordelia (Uber) Liljequist. He married Marilyn "Lyn" Koopmann on Sept. 3, 1945, in Davenport. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Herbert was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Herbert loved bowling and was a member of several leagues in the area.

Memorials may be made to Hospice, the Humane Society or Good Samaritan Center.

Survivors include his wife, Lyn; daughters, Barbara Liljequist, Angier, N.C., Marian Liljequist, Coralville, Iowa, and Margaret Liljequist, Minneapolis; sons, Michael Liljequist, and his partner, Joe Dickow, Fort Thomas, Ky., Richard Liljequist, and his wife, Mary Lou, East Moline, John Liljequist, and his wife, Laurie, Davenport, and James Liljequist, and his wife, Tami, Davenport; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Catherine (Mrs. Robert D.) Mason, Treasure Island, Fla., and Helen (Mrs. Wayland C.) Savre, Houston.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Thomas Liljequist.
