Johannes Carlsson "Blomberg" was born in Levene, Skaraborgs Lan, Sweden on Sept 26, 1836 son of Carl Andersson (born 1802)and Christina Johansdotter (b.1813).
He married Anna Stina Andersdotter (born 1836) on Oct. 25, 1867 in the Lutheran Church in Levene, Sweden and they had 2 daughters: Amanda "Anna" Sophia Carlsson Blomberg Biggar(12-4-1876 to 3-31-1963) and Selma Olivia Carlsson Blomberg Roper (7-28-1880 to 9-18-1946).
The family left their home in Lilltomten, Sweden on July 11, 1884 and sailed from Gotenborg via Liverpool, England to the U.S.(port unknown). They changed their surname from Carlsson to Blomberg on arrival for unknown reasons.
They settled in Carver Co.,MN at first. John's wife died at an unknown date, the daughters grew up, married and moved west to Montana and Idaho. Shortly after 1900 John moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho to live with his eldest daughter Amanda - now married to Samuel Biggar. John moved with the Biggar family to St. Maries, Idaho in 1921 where he lived with them until his death there at age 89 in April 1926.
