Born Selma Olivia Carlsson (changed to Blomberg after arrival in US) on July 28, 1880 in Lilltoten, Levene, Skaraborgs, Sweden. Came to Wisconsin in 1884 at age 4 with parents Johannes Carlsson (later John Blomberg)and Anna Stina Andersdotter and sister Amanda (who wed Samuel Biggar in MN abt 1893 and moved to Bonners Ferry, ID). Selma moved to Kalispell, MT with her sister Amanda Biggar and married a barber George C. Roper there in 1901. They had 2 daughters Florence and Edna. After George's death in 1927, she and her daughter Edna moved to Spokane, WA. At her death in 1946, Selma was living in Bremerton, WA.
