James Kenneth Bailey, Sr., 75, died June 2, 2011 at The Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas.
A native of Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Alfred & Mary Rozelle Mathis Bailey.
He retired from Sandoz after 42 years of service, retired from Air National Guard and was a lifetime member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Kinman officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00-8:00PM at McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont.

Survivors include his son, Kenny Bailey of Stanley; daughter & son in law, Cyndi & Tom Clemmer of Stanley; grandchildren, Dusty Smith & girlfriend, Lauren Shives of Stanley; Brian Clemmer & wife, Brianne of Roanoke, Va.; 3 great grandchildren, Seth, Kara & Daniel Clemmer; Fiance, Phyllis Auten of Gastonia; brother & sister in law, Gary & Phyllis Bailey of Gaffney, SC; sister & brother in law, Shirley Smith Rogers & Dick Rogers of Stanley; sister in law, Sylvia Kinney of Lexington, NC; nieces, Darlene Conley, Karen Gardner & Cathy Ward; nephews, Mike Smith, Chuck & Wayne Bailey & David Kinney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norene Smith Bailey.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Phyllis for her unconditional love and support throughout the years to our entire family. She will always be a part of our family.
