---C. O. Douglas, brother of Charles Douglas of La Plata, died Friday morning at his home in Novelty after a lingering illness. He was seventy-five years of age.
---He was born May 10, 1873.
---Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at the Locust Hill Church, conducted by Rev. W.J. Wilson of Kirksville. Burial was in the Locust Hill cemetery.
---Mrs. Douglas was the son of Luther and Lizzie (Leach) Douglas and was born and reared in the Locust Hill community.
---He was married to Lizzie Howerton and to this union six children were born, three sons and three daughters.
---Hi is survived by his wife, sons, Guy of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Roy of Novelty and John B. of Burlington, Iowa; daughters, Mrs. Willie (Leona) Cook of Kirksville, Mrs. Von (Martha) Unger of Novelty and Mrs. Louise Lindsey of Leonard; six grandchildren.
---He is also survived by two brothers, Ed of Tulsa, Oklahome and Charlie of La Plata.
---He was preceded in death by his father and mother, three brothers and two sisters. He was a cousin of Rupe Rinehart of Kirksville.
---Pallbearers were Guy Murry, Emory Hull, Clifton Aucutt, Earl Tucker, Earnie Snow and Arthur Deaner.
