Peggy is the grandmother of my daughter Deanna Duran.

Peggy was born on November 11, 1939 and passed away quietly with her family by her side on Sunday, February 8, 2009. My mom also known as Joann lived in Lafayette and loved spending time with her family. Peggy is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son, 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 brother, 1 grand-daughter who went before her and was probably the first one to run and greet her. Peggy worked at Sanchez elementary school as a cook manager, the staff all cared for her deeply and the children all miss her. Peggy Our Mom was a strong woman and a loving woman and we all love her so much and we really miss our Mom and Grandma. Our Mom was there for us anytime we needed her and she will always be remembered and she will always live in our hearts. Our Mom was laid to rest next to her grandaughter Deanna Duran at the Louisville Cemetary, that is what she wanted and with the help of a very caring person Veronica it was possible.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the star shine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
