Wilhelm (William) Bull Dahl was born at Gaarden Sentvet, the home of his mother's parents, Claus Wilhelm Koren Bull and Hågine Hoff Bull. They came to America when he was about five or six years old. He graduated first from St. Cloud Normal, and in 1890, from Augsburg Seminary in Minneapolis. Before entering the Seminary, he taught public and parochial school. He served first in Clinton, MN where they stayed until 1895, and their first four children were born. From there, they served ten years at Montevideo, MN, seven years at Lake Preston, SD, sixteen years at Dwight, ND, and the last three years at Horace, ND, where he died. He was buried in the Dwight churchyard where he had previously served.
