Obituary for Wilma Maxine Scarborough

Wilma Maxine Scarborough, 95, passed away at Sweeny Hospital on December 4, 2016.
She was born in Hastings, Oklahoma on July 31, 1921. She moved to Sweeny in 1939 and was a resident there ever since. She married Marvin Richmond Scarborough on March 10, 1940.

She enjoyed being a housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She also enjoyed working with Avon for 67 years. She said it gave her the opportunity to meet and make many wonderful friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Marvin Richmond Scarborough, mother Irma Gertrude Adams, father John Claude Adams, brother, Johnny Adams, and sisters Mary Adams and Reba Carter.

Survivors include her daughter Cheryl Melinda Hilburn, husband Beryl, son John Marvin Scarborough, wife Cindy; five grandsons, Keith Rodgers and partner Mary Jane, Stephen Rodgers and wife Jodie, Paul Mapes and wife Heather, Casey Scarborough and wife KC, Cory Scarborough and wife Jaclyn, and one grand- daughter Katy Wagner and husband JR.
She also leaves behind one sister Audie Dillion, as well as eleven great grand- children, one great-great grandchild, numerous nephews, nieces, dear friends, and very special friends, Lou Ella Wright, Eva Thompson, Leona Thompson, and Alyssa Farrow.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm with the funeral starting at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Sweeny, 207 E. 1st St, Sweeny, Texas. Burial will be at Shanks Memorial Cemetery in Kirvin, Texas.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Sweeny.
