Rites held for Tommie Purser

MAGEE — Services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Mims Mitchell Chapel for Tommie Purser, 87, of Rt. 4, Mt. Olive, who died Wednesday at the Mendenhall Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

The Rev. Rank Jones and the Rev. Mr. Albritton officiated. Burial was in Sharon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Judean Purser, Johnny Darden, Billy Purser, Karry Tuggle, Jack and Fred Purser.

Survivors include two sons, Marzell Purser of Magee and Charlie Purser of Mt. Olive; two daughters, Mrs. [i.e Lillian] W. L. Blair of Mendenhall and Mrs. [i.e. Mattie May] Cullen Williamson of Magee; three half brothers, Ethel Purser of Mt. Olive, and Shelby and Breeland [s/b Brelan] Purser, both of Magee; four half-sisters, Mrs. [i.e. Maybelle] Lish May of Weathersby, Mrs. [i.e. Candy] Claudia Cockrell of Magee, Mrs. [i.e. Eria] Bart Wells and Mrs. Zera [s/b Zeria] Fairchilds, both of Mt. Olive; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
