Death claimed Mrs. Celia H Hillegas, of 1218 Gordan St., widow of the Rev. Oswin S. Hillegas who for 37 years was a Mennonite clergyman in this section, died yesterday at the Sacred Heart Hospital. She was aged 74 years. six months and one day.
Mrs. Hillegas was active in church work and aided her husband, who preceded her in death two years ago. The Rev. Hillegas was ordained in 1889 and served a number of churches. His last church was at Salem M. B. C. church in South Allentown, where he was pastor from 1920 until he retired in 1924. She was a member of Salem M. B. C. church.
She was a daughter of the late Daniel and Priscilla nee Harner, Sterner. Surviving are three brothers and a sister, Charles Sterner, Merchantsville, N. J.; William S., Philadelpia; Harry S., Bethlehem and Sallie, wife of Sam Becker, of this city.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday in the Bethel M. B. C. church, N. 8th St. Internment will be made in Union cemetery, Quakertown.
