Pauline Ruth Allbright, 85, died Thursday, December 30, 2010, in Gig Harbor, Washington after a brief illness. Born in Hagerman, New Mexico on Sept. 28, 1925, Polly Allbright resided in Dallas, Texas from 1964 until moving to Washington State in 2008. She was predeceased by her husband William Chester (Bill) Allbright Jr., an executive with Atlantic Richfield Company, and by her brother Robert Cumpsten of Loveland, Colorado. Polly was the daughter of Robert and Alta Cumpsten, and upon finishing high school in Hagerman, New Mexico, attended Park College in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated from Texas Tech University. She taught elementary and high school in Colorado and New Mexico, and met her future husband Bill in Roswell, New Mexico. Polly was an active member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church and the American Home Economics Association. She enjoyed playing piano, china painting, sewing and knitting, and credited her mother Alta for encouraging her talents and interests. She also had a fondness for cats and chocolate.

She is survived by her three children, Sally Marie Watkins of Gig Harbor, Washington; Kirk Paul Allbright of Severna Park, Maryland; and William Robert (Bill) Allbright and wife Debby of Dallas, Texas; and by her four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association . The internment will be at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas, at noon on Friday, January 7, 2011, followed by a memorial service at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas, at 2 p.m
