Broken tombstone, reads died:
May 31, 185?
Age 7 yrs, ___mths, 22 ds.
Son of J.H. and R Vredenburgh. Buried in Old Mt. Hope Cemetery, Thornapple, MI.

Abram is not on the 1850 Thornapple census with the family of Joseph H. Vredenburgh. However the tombstone reads (calculated) that he was born in the 1850's. Joshua, shown on the 1850 Thornapple, MI census is shown as having born in or about 1850. No Abram on the 1850 census.
Joshua does not show up again, nor does he appear to have a tombstone if in the same cemetery. And Abram is not on the census with his mother and brothers, Francis, and
John and sister for the census years of 1860 and 1870. Their father, Joseph died between 1850 and 1860. If Joseph the father died between 1850 and 1860, Abram wouldn't have been born after that time.

I would guess then that Abram was born about 1850, and if he died at 7 yrs, it would make sense then that he was born about 1850. Not on the 1860 census, died before 1860. Joseph, shown on the 1850 census is 6/12 age. Infant. I believe that Abram was actually the child that was named on the census as Joshua. The tombstone for Abram reads died 185?. Looking closely at the last letter, it looks like the beginning of a 7.

Abram was the son of Rebecca Jane McNitt Vredenburgh and Joseph H. Vredenburgh (born MI, died MI)
