Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Baptist Church by the pastor, Rev. J.W. Cunningham for Mrs. Jessie Thompson, who died last Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Barnes, of near Micola. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Malinda Catherine Stanfield was born at Houston, Tenn., December 14, 1861, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mrs. Mrytle Barnes, July 16. 1942, age 80 years, 7 months, 1 day.
She was united in marriage to Jessie Thompson, May 28, 1881, and to this union was born 14 children. Four children and her husband have preceded her death. She is survived by three sons, Blaine, of Lockney, Texas, Jessie Jr. and Wayne, both of Los Angeles, Calif., seven daughters, Mrs. G.W. Howard of Levelland, Texas, Mrs. J.E. Young of Steele, Mrs. Myrtle Barnes of Steele, Mrs. J.L. Shields of Gracemont, Okla., Mrs. O.E. Rogers, Mrs. E. Sullivan, of Eakly, Okla., and Miss Mary Thompson of Steele. A number of grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and friends also mourn her passing.
Mrs. Thompson united with the Baptist Church at the age of 16 years and she remained until her death. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.
