Nicholas Gassaway (Gasiway, variant) was the son of Col. Nicholas and Anne (Besson) Gassaway. (Contributor 47213198)∼It's somewhat controversial on who his mother was. Since his father didn't marry Anne Besson until he was (perhaps) about 32 years old, there was ample time for him to have had an earlier wife for children Nicholas Jr and his full sister Anne. This memorial reflects that most researchers believe Nicholas' (and his sister Anne's) mother was Anne Besson, perhaps based upon this eldest daughter also being named Anne.
