Minnie was the daughter of John and Mary (Boyer) Franks. She was the 4th great-granddaughter of Revolutionary War Soldier, Henry Valentine, Proven DAR Patriot, and the granddaughter of Civil War Soldier, John Boyer, 3rd Ohio Cavalry. She married Harry Cosway, and they lived in Chicago for a while. A beautiful seamstress, Minnie worked for Marshall Field making mens dress shirts. Minnie was the most wonderful babysitter a kid could have. She'd play board games with us, especially the game of Life. She told my brother and I that she was 17-years-old...finally, we were old enough to remind her she'd had a birthday, and she said, "oh, that's right, I'm 18 now." She was in her early 80's at the time. Aunt Minnie love a good glass of beer, preferably Buckeye Beer. Aunt Minnie beat breast cancer 3 times in her life...before most women beat the disease. She eventually succumbed 2 months shy of her 91st birthday to Congestive Heart Failure. She was the last surviving sibling.
