Arlene Jackson passed away at home surrounded by her family on May 26, 2011.

She was born October 13, 1928 in Tooele, UT to David Konrad Swanson and Olga Olson and was the youngest of five.

On September 9, 1948, she married her sweetheart Lyle Ralph Jackson in the Salt Lake Temple and they had nine children. She was devoted to her husband and family.

She honored her Swedish heritage in being generous and hard working. Her testimony of the gospel was expressed through the way she lived her life and how she treated others.

She will always be remembered for her kindness, great cooking, and has left behind a legacy of service. She enjoyed gardening, dancing and playing games. In fact, she was always Miss Scarlet regardless of the game.

Arlene is survived by her loving husband and children; Lynda, Mike (Chyrell), Judy, Mark (Julie), Rory Jon (Margaret), Robyn (Steve) Follett, Teresa (David) Burya, Kristi King, Kelli (Lane) Wright, twenty-one grandchildren, and fifteen-plus great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Funeral Services will be held in the Mesa Park Ward Chapel, 1850 East 8600 South, Sandy, UT, on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Respects may be made to the family prior from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
