Mrs. Alice Gentry McDouall, 66 former Columbia county resident, died very suddenly at her home near Stateline Monday morning following a brief illness. Funeral servics were held Wednesday at 2 pm from the Cookerly and Groseclose Chapel, with the Rev. Alexander P. Aiton officiating and interment was made at the IOOF Cemetery. Born in Newton CO. MO, September 20, 1877, Alice Gentry came west in early life and had since lived here and in Walla Walla. She attended Walla Walla public schools, Whitman academy and Whitman College, and had taught in this country at Attolia and at Springdale near her home. She was a member of the Pioneer Methodist Church, the Shakespeare Club, and the Henry W. Lawton Auxilary, United Spanish War Veterans. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth McDouall, Stateline; a sister, Mrs. R.L. Burris, Dayton; two brothers I. R. Gentry, Dayton; and W.M. Gentry, California; and three grandchildren.
