"Douglas Casteel, who was born in Miami county and a resident here for forty-five years, died October 12th at the Baptist hospital at Miami, Okla. He had been in bad health and seriously sick since last May.
William Douglas Casteel was born July 13, 1860 and was married to Jennie Tumbleson, September 10, 1889. Three children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy. Since the death of his wife in 1913 he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. J.F. Spence.
He was converted twenty-five years ago while living in Louisburg and a few years later became a member of the Baptist church at Eureka, Kansas. In 1919 he moved to Ottawa County, Okla., and later to Miami, Okla., transferring his church membership.
Besides the daughter he is survived by one granddaughter, Barbara Spence, also a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from the First Baptist church at Miami Saturday morning at 9:00 o'clock and a short service was conducted at Louisburg cemetery at 2:00 o'clock."
