A retired automobile mechanic for McInnis Peterson Chevrolet with 28 years of service, he died at 4:18 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at his home in Satsuma. He was 82 and a native of Saratoga, N.C. He was U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was awarded the American Theater Campaign Medal, EAMET Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. A loving husband, father and grandfather,and Great-grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ashley Parnell Beaman; a daughter, Pamela Beaman Pourciau and husband Emile D. Pourciau, Port Allen; a son, Calvin C. Beaman and wife Rita Pourciau Beaman, Prairieville; a stepdaughter, Linda Parnell Kimble and husband Ray D.Kimble, Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren, seven stepgrand-children, six great-grandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchil-dren. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. and Nellie Ellis Beaman; first wife, Iris Millet Beaman; two sisters, Cindy Beaman Cawthorne and Kathleen Beaman Kearney; and three brothers, Rufus Jackson "Tink" Beaman, William Douglas "Bud" Beaman and Chester Ellis Beaman. He was a member of Satsuma Baptist Church and American Legion Ellis-Facundus Post No. 178.
