He was born May 1, 1926 in Medaryville to the late George Kroft and Grace Tetzloff Kroft. He married Joan Ellis on Sept. 24, 1954 in Boone Grove. She survives.
He is also survived by three daughters, Karen Smolek (husband: Ben Jr.) of San Pierre, Janis Potter of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Marcia Schoeneck (husband: Greg) of Valparaiso; his twin brother, Robert Kroft (wife: Agnes) Kroft of Logansport and three sisters, Alladean Clouser of Winamac, Arlos Epler of Francesville and Doris Becker of Rensselaer.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a recipient of a combat infantry badge and the Bronze Star. Medal
