Son of Fred Kroft and Dora Alberding. He was a native of Cass Township and passed away at 9:15 am in Pulaski County Hospital, Winamac. He was a farmer and resident of of the Medaryville area.

He was a former Pulaski County commissioner and councilman. He served 2 terms as county commissioner in the early 1950s and was elected councilman in 1966.

Married to Gretchen Augusta "Grace" Tetzloff on March 30, 1921. who survives. He was a member of Saint John's United Church of Christ.

Surviving with the widow are 4 daughters, Mrs. Alladean Clouser of Winamac, Mrs. Arlos Epler and Mrs. Louella Hively, both of Medarryville, and Mrs. Doris Becker of Wheatfield; 2 sons, Ray and Robert of Monticello; 1 brother, Floyd Kroft of North Judson; and a sister, Mrs. Ella Garling of Medaryville.

Services entrusted to Querry-Ulbricht Funeral Home, Medaryville, with burial at Saint John's United Church of Christ Cemetery.
