Claude Waters, 93, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in a local healthcare facility. She resided with her daughter and special grandson, Jamie Swanson, whom she loved very much. She was the oldest member of Mt. View Baptist Church. She retired from Cabin Crafts with 18 years of service and Benton Manufacturing with 20 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Deep Waters and Virgie Hilliard Waters; sisters, Nannie Kate Franklin and husband, Jake, Bessie Green and husband, Willie, her identical twin, Maude Watson and husband, Earl, Johnnie Poteet and husband, Clinton and Juanita Barker and husband, Luther.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Gency" Swanson of Benton; grandson, Jamie Swanson, who was the joy of her life, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at Higgins Funeral Home with the Reverend Charlie Bain and the Reverend Pete Morgan officiating. Jamie Swanson served as an honorary pallbearer. A white dove release ceremony concluded the service.
