Floyd A. "Coonskin Adkins, 93 of Hallsville passed away, Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Boone Hospital Center. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Adkins was born February 9, 1913 in Claysville, MO to Andrew Jackson and Sarah Elizabeth Dobson Adkins. He married Mary Margaret Turner on March 18, 1939 in Columbia and she survives. Mr. Adkins formerly worked for ASCS, drove a school bus and was a truck driver. He was an avid raccoon hunter. He served for many years on the Public Water Board District 4. For most of his life he was a farmer. He was a hard worker and loved life. Mr. Adkins was a member of Mt. Zion Church. Survivors include, his wife of Hallsville; two sons, Donald R. Adkins of Columbia and C. Richard Adkins of Hallsville; four daughters, Phyllis Hayes of Montrose, CO, Barbara Mueller of Guthrie, MO, Sarah Wyatt of Fulton, MO and Cindy Driskill of Hallsville, MO. 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gene Adkins, a brother, two sisters and a grandson, Michael Adkins.
