Bertha Elizbeth Turner,87, of Columbia died Saturday, Oct. 25, 1997, in Hallsville. Services will be held at 1;30 pm Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1n Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Owen and Elder Wallace Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28,at the funeral home. Mrs. Turner was born March 27, 1910, in Englewood to A.J."Jack" and Sarah Elizabeth Dobson Adkins. She married Frank Wright Turner on Nov.2, 1945, in Columbia and he preceded her in death. She attended Mount Zion Church and worked at Ar-Cel Garment Factory and Nowell's on West Worley Street until retirement. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Betty Baysinger of Columbia; a brother, Floyd Adkins of Hallsville; three grandchildren; and numerous gret-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.
